FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When do you respond to email?
A: We respond to all e-mail daily (M-F), and make an effort to get back to you within 24 hours.

Q: How can I view the status of my order?
A: Go to the Customer Service, Account Information page. This page lists all your orders. Click the date of the
order for which you want to know the status.

Q: What are your shipping costs?
A: You can view an estimate of shipping costs by viewing your cart. However, final shipping costs will be
displayed on the Invoice you see before confirming your order.

Q: How do you determent the grading of your items?
A: Before we ship any items to you, we complete a final grading check. If we accidently misgraded the
condition to a lower grade (but it should have been a higher grade) we will not charge for the more accurate
grade or re-adjust the price (we will honour the quote given). If an item was graded at a higher grade before
shipment, and a lower grade is assessed at shipment, we will inform you, by email, of the lower price tag, in
advance.

Q: What if I'm not happy with my order?
A: Any order, or partial order, can be returned if not described, as advertised. In particular, if a comic has been
misgraded, we will either compensate you for the difference in grade or make an effort to provide a
replacement. We do not, however, accept any responsibility for the content of the back issues we sell. Returns
will not be accepted due to dissatisfaction with a comic book’s storyline. If an error is made on our end, we'll
fix it. Otherwise, no returns will be accepted after an order has been placed.

Q: What is your system of grading comics?
A: Please view our Grading Standards.

Q: How long will it take to get my comics?
A: That will depend on the postal service and our internal delivery time. We make an effort to ship all Internet
orders within 24-48 hours. Once your package leaves the building, it generally takes 5-10 days for the postal
service to deliver. Total shipping time is thus 7-12 days. For International orders, it is far more difficult to gauge
shipping time. International delivery times can vary widely. In general, however, it takes two-three weeks for
airmail (including our fulfillment time), or three-four with our other International Carriers. Both domestic and
international shipping is also available by UPS, DHL, or Federal Express. In order for this to happen, however,
you must bear any additional costs to shipping, plus an allowance for additional handling costs. If you're willing
to pay, we can get a shipment almost anywhere in the world within 48 hours.

Q: Do you have a printed catalogue of your listings?
A: No, our inventory and prices are in our Internet Store. We found the cost of printing and updating the printed
catalogs prohibitive.

Q: How accurate is your inventory?
A: We keep our inventory as accurate as we can. Changes to inventory will be made as sales are made.

Q: Can I trade/sell comics to you?
A: No, we do not buy

Q: Why are your prices sometimes higher than industry price guides?
A: Please view our Grading Standards.
It is important to remember that containing price listings are averages of what dealers across the world are
charging for issues. While these price guide publications are good at compiling these numbers, they actually
don't stock and sell comics. Costs of maintaining this inventory are immense. In addition, due to clear economic
constraints, we, at times, have philosophic differences with some of the price guides. We do not believe, for
example, that Near Mint copies of DC comics from the 1970's should only be priced in the $3 range. They've
become darn hard to find. But, because the price guide publishers do not actually have to try and find or restock
these issues in the open market, they have no idea of the actual scarcity.
Another example would be low-grade comics from ARCHIE/HARVEY/CHARLTON from the 1970's. Most
guides list these books at under $1. We can't even justify listing comics for such a cheap price. The costs of
grading, sorting, filing, and entering these comics into the computer requires at least $2 per comic in retail price.
Maybe you could find these same comics in the 3/$1 boxes at a local comics shop, but we have to cover the cost
of getting them available for mail order sale. It's a choice between either not listing the issues, or charging a
price that will (barely) cover our costs. Because of our philosophy of carrying these comics, we process the
book and list it, but at a price that can seem high. In fact, we don't earn anything selling these books.
